human remains removal stories (the smell)

this one is not funny, well kinda.
i was driving back from the medical examiners office, with a body that has been dead for quite some time. lets say its not in real good shape.

the smell was horrific but it was no big deal I'm used to it kinda..
well i had a 136 mile drive with Mr stinky in the back and it was 117 degrees out side so i really did not want to drive with the Windows down. you can imagine, I'm sure, how bad it really was.

let me tell it to you this way,, if a body that is as decomposed as the one in my van that day stays in the van to long, the whole van smells for weeks.

so i had to move as fast as possible to get this guy to the crematory.

i was blazing a trail down a state highway going a bit over the speed limit 30 miles over the limit to be exact.
i was driving to get there if you know what i mean.

well i rolled up on the turn i had to make to go north on another state highway to get to were i needed to be and i still had about 85 miles to go.

well... as soon as i turned on to the that second highway, he was rite there yes, Johnny law, lights a flashin, and siren a blarin.

"i said to my self" damn I'm never going to get this smell out of my van now.

well i know how jumpy police officers get, on a desert highway with no one around for miles, so i put my hands out the window so he could see them. as he walk to the van door i said to him sir i have a loaded gun in the vehicle did you want me to step out of the van?

he said no dont worry about it.

i noticed him look into the back window of the van when he was walking up to my door, and "he asked me" hey is there some one sleeping back there?

i thought for a second....as he looked at me with a puzzled stare i said yes kinda.. but this guys is never going to wake up. hes dead. dead? he said yes and I'm trying to get him to the crematory as fast as possible.
he put his head into the van window to look back there and as fast as he looked in he jumped back. i knew why and i said to him i really need to get there now.

"he said to me well" that explains it, OK slow it down and have a nice day.

you think maybe the smell changed his mind?
well what ever it was i guess there are some perks being a removal guy huh? he he he
